The North Central Railway zone on Tuesday implemented special arrangements to accommodate increased passenger load during Janmashtami. Several trains have been extended, and additional stops added in Mathura until Aug 29 to handle influx of devotees. The PRO of Agra Railway Division, Prashasti Srivastava, said Agra Cantt Express from Agra Cantt to Veerangana Lakshmibai Jhansi will be extended to Mathura Junction from Aug 25- 28. This train will then operate as train number 11902 from Mathura Junction to Agra Cantt from August 26-29. Additionally, Agra Cantt Intercity Express from New Delhi to Agra Cantt will be extended to Gwalior from Aug 25-28, with stops at Dholpur and Morena. From Aug 26-29, it will operate as train number 14211 from Gwalior to New Delhi. The Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Department prepared for Mahakumbh 2025 by training 4,000 tourist guides. The training for boat men, taxi drivers and other stakeholders has started from August 12- Jaiveer Singh. With extensive preparations keying up, including tent cities, home stays, and hotels, the state aims to accommodate over 40 crore visitors in Prayagraj. Guides are receiving specialized training, and additional stakeholders like boatmen and taxi drivers will also get trained. DRM Agra, Tej Prakash Agrawal, said special trains, including MEMU Special from Itawa to Agra Cantt and train from Agra Cantt to Veerangana Lakshmibai Jhansi (MEMU), will operate from Mathura Junction from Aug 25-28.From Aug 25-28, several express trains, including Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Terminus-Amritsar Express, Korba-Amritsar Express, Puri-Yoganagari Rishikesh Express, and New Delhi-Agra Cantt Intercity, will make one-minute stops at Bhuteshwar station daily.
